Heathrow Airport – Terminal 5C
Valued at approximately £350m, the opening of Terminal 5 Concourse C (T5C) marked the next phase of expansion at Europe’s busiest airport, London Heathrow.
The new terminal building comprises 12 pier-served stands with the provision to extend to 14 stands in the future. On eight of the 12 stands, T5C also has the capability to service the planned inclusion of the world’s largest commercial airliner – the Airbus A380 – in the British Airways fleet.
As the Complex Building Integrator (CBI), Carillion’s role was to not just to construct T5C, but to manage the interfaces and report progress across all the suppliers involved on T5C.
During the fit-out, commissioning and handover of T5C, Our responsibility was for the augmentation, management and reporting all Project Controls functions on T5C to their client, BAA.
We also played an integral role in assisting in the continued improvement of Carillion’s Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and Earned Value Management (EVM) systems and processes.
